A true crime co-written as Lawrence King with Deborah McMartin and published by Author House.
Ever heard it said the way to hell is paved with good intentions? Sometimes the way to prison is paved the same way. STONE JUSTICE is the story of the abuse, the life, the struggles, the redemption, and the execution of Toni Jo Henry. Abused by her father, she left home at the age of thirteen. Though intelligent, the highest grade in school she attained was the sixth and she repeated it three times because she had to work instead of attending class. Nevertheless, she tried to make something of herself, but she was thwarted by the Great Depression and prejudice.
That she found true, honest, deep consuming love, and eventually salvation are the only bright spots in the life of this humble, kind, loyal, sweet, and charitable woman. Toni Jo Henry never had a chance. Circumstances or people always intervened to crush her every opportunity, her every hope. This glimpse into the scandalous abuses that abounded in early twentieth century American society is so harsh, so raw, so unforgiving as to be unbelievable. Surely this couldn’t happen in America.
This incredible story will make you laugh, it will make you appreciate the progress of the past fifty years in social programs and criminal justice, and it will make you cry.
Quote from Tom Youngblood, Toni Jo Henry’s great-nephew: "Even if she was guilty as an accomplice, she wasn’t treated to a fair trial. This book gives her the respect she deserves."
Quote from Ron Youngblood, Toni Jo Henry’s great-nephew: "Thank you to the writers of this book who are helping people realize that injustice was done in this trial even though Toni Jo did some wrong things. It shows she wasn’t the terrible person the press presented her as being. Of all the stories that may be written about Toni Jo, these writers had a personal and humane interest in this project. Thanks again for all your hard work."

Written as Lawrence King, published by Amber Quill Press.
The evil dreams of MAX BONIFACE, the innocent dreams of DANA BONIFACE, and BEN CARTER's journalistic zeal connect. Fighting to regain control of Dana with mind-altering drugs, Max continues his secret stem cell experiments as Dana breaks free and Ben finds a way to expose Max.
TEASER: Max peered into the state of the art scanning electron microscope. The stem cells bounced and floated, darting in and out of their self-contained world. Amazing. This was power. Not Wall Street, not mega banking, but here in these microscopic worlds that would change the course of humanity. This was the power and he held the key. These minute forms of life swimming before him would build his kingdom. He could own the world and run it the way he saw fit.
Max carefully placed the slide back in the refrigerated cabinet along with the other stem cells then walked to the back of the lab. Reams of material grew on a scaffolding, becoming larger every day. He liked to watch its growth. The cutting edge of scientific research stood before him. Experimental designs that had never before been attempted. Human tissue emerging from embryonic stem cells, that would be programmed to grow into any organ of the body.
Edge's biomedical engineers had spent years developing the perfect environment for cellular and organ growth, an environment that simulated the original organ of life–the womb. The brilliant tissue engineering involved the construction of artificial, degradable, biopolymer scaffolding molded into the desirable shape of a womb. When seeded with the appropriate cells and immersed in a nutrient-rich solution with growth factor in a 37-degree centigrade environment that emulates the body, anything can grow.
Max laughed. His father would be so proud. A bioreactor is what this machine was. He loved the way the word rolled off his tongue. "Bioreactor."
Max turned to watch his trusted lab assistant, Bartholemew Rosen, head bent over his microscope, his mind in his own cellular world. Research was his life.
Max could no longer contain his excitement. "Bartholomew!" Startled, Bartholemew jumped from his chair, coming to attention. "Yes, Mr. Boniface." Max grabbed his shoulders. "Do you realize what we have done?"
